B.A.T. (Big Awkward Trailers) — This class, taught by Claude
Huffman, will teach students to properly and safely handle the
trailers that are fast becoming common place in the fire/rescue
service. Driving, backing, loading, etc., will be covered. To

We are offering three opportunities (one weekend and two weekday

1851 Cleaning & Repair Class —
MES and Globe Firesuits are sponsoring this class. It will be
held at Kings Mountain Fire Department, 106 Spruce Street, Kings

Educational Methodology Course for Fire, Rescue and EMS/2008 (66
Hours) —
This course is designed to train fire & emergency instructor
candidates in learning and practicing the art of: (1) developing
instructional strategies/techniques: (2) and demonstrating
practical generic teaching and communication skills.
Participants will prepare and deliver lesson presentations on a
non-EMS or Fire related topic and a topic specific to the
content area in which he or she will be teaching. The focus will
be on responding to learner needs while meeting
ethical/professional/safety standards and legal

HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION/2008 —
This course is centered on a unique collection of Cargo Tank
Models, and Props combined with a multi-media presentation to
facilitate a state-of-the art training experience over a 12-hour
course. The models include an MC 306; DOT 406; MC 307; DOT 407;
MC 312; DOT 412; and an MC 331. These models can demonstrate the
various methods of response and reinforce concepts taught at
both the Operations and Technician level. A student manual will

Information for EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, and EMT-Paramedic

Please note registration dates for all classes. Registration days
are Monday thru Thursday from 8 am – 4 pm. If you need to register
on Friday, please call to schedule a time to come in. Registration
location is the Brown Emergency Training Center, 2423 Kings Road

EMT-Basic Day Course
August 4, 2008 thru January 26, 2009, Monday and Wednesday mornings
(9 am – 1 pm) and one-eight Saturday every other month. Registration
dates are March 3 – August 4.
EMT-Basic Night Course
August 4, 2008 thru January 26, 2009, Monday and Wednesday evenings
(6 pm – 10 pm) and one-eight Saturday every other month.
Registration dates are March 3 – August 4.
EMT – Intermediate Night Course
November 3, 2008 thru April 22 2009, Monday and Wednesday evenings
(6 pm – 10 pm) and one eight-hour Saturday each month. Registration
dates are August 18, 2008 thru November 3, 2008. Cleveland Community
College will limit seating to 30 students. Students will be tested
in Math and Reading skills on the first day of class. All interested
students must pre-register at the Brown Emergency Training, Monday
thru Thursday from 8 am – 4 pm. If you need to register on Friday,
please call to schedule a time to come in.

5:30 pm). Registration dates are February 9, 2009 thru May 18, 2009.
